INDICAM aims to be a connector of know-how, a source of information and discussion on IP and the fight against counterfeiting,spreading a culture of original buying.
This objective is pursued through the activities implemented by INDICAM or carried out in collaboration with the various stakeholders who ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the work of the association.
The Association acts as a privileged interlocutor with the institutions in terms of competence, vision and role, being the point of contact and best representation for companies and IP rights.
Institutions are valuable speakers with whom INDICAM has been in dialogue for years, participating in joint actions aimed at protecting the market. The association responsibly offers the Authorities its know-how, the wealth of information coming from the industry and the sentiment on the subject, which is constantly monitored together with consumer associations.
INDICAM work is carried out in close synergy with the various Ministries of reference, which are the first port of call when the Association identifies projects, opportunities and methods that can be shared.
INDICAM passes on its wealth of information and best practices across various stakeholders: lawyers, IP consultants, business professionals, young people and students, journalists and consumers, in a discussion to deepen the various IP assets, their importance on both the current and, above all, the future economy and the most effective strategies against infringements.
INDICAM must be able to pool the data, information and cases that constitute its know-how. Internal working groups are an essential part of this process. Normally led by members of the Association, they have the task of working towards objectives in the elaboration of positions, guidelines, concrete tools that can be disseminated and are in favour of the Association’s actions.
The current Working Groups deal with DESIGN, LEGAL, SUSTAINABILITY, BLOCKCHAIN, ENFORCEMENT and ONLINE PLATFORMS.
Within the work of WGs, there are also relationships with the various stakeholders involved. For example, with regard to the online world, INDICAM has set up working groups with various e-commerce and social media platforms.
POLICE RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT
On the basis of the agreement already in place with the General Command of the Guardia di Finanza, the Anti-Fraud Office of the Customs Agency and a number of Local Police Commands, the programme aims to deliver a series of practical training sessions, also focusing on current legislation, for building an irreplaceable bridge linking businesses and the various enforcement agencies.
The training, carried out by brand experts or INDICAM staff, is the best moment to communicate directly to law enforcement officers how to recognize the basic elements of an authentic product from a fake one and, above all, to give the most useful information in order to start more specialized investigations.
An Italian experience scalable in Europe, a project dedicated to the creation of an IP friendly culture in all the European cities.
AUTHENTICITY was created, thanks to the support of the European Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and in partnership with INDICAM’s homologous associations (Unifab in France and Andema in Spain), with the aim of creating a network of European cities that are concretely committed to raising awareness on Intellectual Property rights. If “unity is strength”, connecting in a single virtuous network is a good solution to fight the illegal market that harms economy, industries and consumers every day. In 2019 AUTHENTICITY has gone big: EUIPO has decided to continue the project and scale it up to all 27 member countries!
An innovative project for analysing and combating urban crime with a specific focus on the sale of smuggled and counterfeit tobacco products. The goal is the creation of a risk map that predicts crime and deviance flows, as well as describing the perception of citizens’ security.
It is an influencer marketing project that aims to raise awareness among young consumers.
IP HERO is the first superhero against counterfeiting that informs on counterfeiting and piracy dynamics, raises awareness in the fight against IPRs infringements and creates engagement through the involvement of celebrities in a different and innovative format.
The first app dedicated to law enforcement agencies participating in our training programme, designed to provide officers with an immediate support for their work in the field. It is an innovative tool that positions INDICAM as a privileged channel for dialogue with enforcement agencies.
