Working groups

Where ideas, projects and proposals are born

INDICAM is able to pool the data, information, and case studies that constitute its wealth of expertise. Internal working groups are an essential part of this process.

Normally led by Association members, they are tasked with working toward objectives to develop positions, guidelines, and concrete tools that can be disseminated and support the Association's actions.

Currently active Working Groups address: LEGAL, AI, ENFORCEMENT, SUSTAINABILITY, ONLINE, DESIGN, and IPunder35.

The working groups' activities also foster relationships with the various stakeholders involved. For example, regarding the online world, INDICAM has established working groups with various online commerce and social media platforms.

Legal

Support from the “Law Firms” members is provided through dedicated working groups that are activated by the Legal Working Group. Specifically, this Working Group facilitates the production of all INDICAM events and activities (both online and offline) dedicated to IP experts.

Enforcement

Composed primarily of member companies, the Working Group defines enforcement priorities and contributes to the drafting of the Continuing Education Program for authorities (see PRM). The Working Group also serves as an advisory body for dossiers regarding relations with institutions and authorities.

Design

Design is an essential intangible asset for companies that stimulates innovation, growth, and creativity. INDICAM, drawing on the experiences of its members, proposes and supports legislative initiatives aimed at protecting design and creativity, both nationally and Europeanly.

Online

Brand Protection wouldn’t exist without considering the online environment. INDICAM is actively creating opportunities for discussion and updates on online enforcement issues, focusing on the involvement and collaboration of digital platforms and online players.

Sustainability

The Sustainability Working Group monitors all legislative initiatives regarding the connection between branding, sustainability, and environmental claims, both at national and European level.

IP under 35

IPunder35 is INDICAM’s working group that brings together young intellectual property professionals to foster networking, training, discussion, and the dissemination of IP culture. It is the only group that encompasses all categories of INDICAM members and promotes innovative and dynamic initiatives and activities.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The AI Working Group monitors legislative initiatives regarding the regulation of artificial intelligence. On the one hand, it promotes the adoption of AI technologies to support intellectual property protection; on the other, it addresses and mitigates the risks these tools pose to rights holders.
